The Importance of Protein

Protein is derived from the Greek word "Proteus" which means 'of prime importance'.

So an adequate amount of protein is 'of prime importance'.

Protein is made up of amino acids which are essential for repairing muscles and body tissues.

Our bones, muscles, tissues, cells and hair all need adequate amounts of protein just to function optimally.

A high Protein diet will also leave you feeling fuller therefore reducing hunger and making it easier to stay in a calorie deficit.

So if you're considering a more Plant Based diet, more veggies is always a good thing, don't forget to source your protein elsewhere.

Aim for around three portions of 25-30g per day at least to begin with.
